The project has been started since June 2016 for the construction of 600m quays (Two, 300m in two phases) for container carriers of 50,000 tons (14m draft) and 47 hectares of hinterland (15 hectares in the first phase). The terminal final capacity would be 150,000 TEU per year.
As the quay is being constructed inland and then the 30-meter land to the harbor is to be dredged, a special quay was designed; a suspended deck structure with continuous intertwined steel/concrete piles.
Also, the apron and hinterland area machinery are to be specified, purchased and installed.
The project is to be finished in 2 years and a 50 million USD investment is to be done by Sina Port and Marine Company in a BOT contract, with the Port Organization.
